Michael & Molly

Flamingo Beach, on the Northern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, has held a special place in Molly and Michael’s relationship for a long time. This is where Michael and his mom used to come on vacation when they escaped the Illinois cold winters. Soon after Michael and Molly became a couple, she started accompanying him there as well and it became their “happy place”.

He proposed to her up in the mountains of Colorado in March 2018 but they decided they wanted to be in Costa Rica with the sunset in the background when they got married. Michael and Molly wanted to be able to share the beauty of their happy place with their friends and family. One hundred thirty guests traveled from the US to witness their vows on the stunning white sand beach of Flamingo. With the sound of the waves crashing in the background and the sand under her toes, Molly said yes to her love and best friend Michael.

Flamingo is a secluded, quiet place, with a picturesque setting. Michael and Molly did not want to intrude on the natural beauty of the scenery, so their altar space was a delightful set up. Costa Rica is an ideal place for a minimalist, yet elegant wedding! Surrounded by beautiful nature and with the ocean and mountain hills in the background of the ceremony, they did not need much decor to brighten up the wedding venue.

After the ceremony, the guests were greeted to the Palms garden area, where Jonathan and Kirsten, from the event rental company Eventos Artesanos, had brought the couple’s visions to life with their event design. It was noticeable that they drew inspiration from the landscape and textures found here; organic and natural design elements were featured in the dinner table designs and decorations. They were decorated discreetly, using real coconuts and tropical leaves as décor, with a color tone of earthy greens, balanced with hints of matte gold and white.

After the cocktail hour, when it was time for the first dance, it was like if the world stopped. With tears in their eyes, the guests were watching Michael and Molly dancing their first dance together under the stars. The small doubts Michael and Molly had about choosing a destination wedding, were blown away. It was an unforgettable experience and they couldn’t have been more content with their wedding day and with their wedding vendors.

The wedding guests were keeping the energy high throughout the evening. It was an amazingly fun night; the guests danced the night away while the fireworks lit up the sky and the energetic fire dancers made the party extra special.

Michael and Molly can’t believe how beautiful their video teaser came out; people almost thought it was fake. We feel very honored that we captured the most special and important day of their lives.
